Minimal WaitING Time
We understand waiting to see a specialist can cause anxiety. We aim to arrange your appointment and care plan within 1 – 2 weeks.
Years of experience in managing problems related to your liver, stomach, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder and oesophagus.
More than Surgery
We also provide nutritional support and counselling, along with supportive therapy for depression & anxiety, alcohol/drug dependence, and eating disorders.
We perform all standard surgeries to the most advanced liver surgery thanks to our unique experience in liver transplantation.
We provide surgery for benign and malignant lesions of the liver such as liver metastases, hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. No other surgeon in Perth has this experience to place at the service of your health.
Gallbladder & Bile Duct Surgery
We deliver excellent surgical outcomes as well as the most attentive patient care and support.
We build on many years of University Hospital experience such as King’s College Hospital, London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge to offer the safest and most cutting edge surgery of the gallbladder and bile duct anatomy, available in Western Australia.
You benefit from the many years of experience each of our specialist surgeons have, in this area.
Open or laparoscopic pancreas surgery may be the recommended treatment option if you have been diagnosed with a pancreas lesion. The operations we perform include distal pancreatectomy, surgery for pancreatic cysts and chronic pancreatitis.
To help you achieve the best outcome, our surgeons and dietitians work closely together to support you on your weight loss journey.
This type of surgery is used to help patients with chronic obesity and consists of reducing the size of the stomach. A gastric sleeve procedure is a common type of weight loss surgery, performed by our bariatric surgeons. Gastric bypass is another option.
Hernia repairs can be an open or a laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery).
Hernia repair is needed when intestine or fatty tissue pushes through a weak spot in the muscular structure of your abdomen to create a bulge. When you consider the options for your hernia repair, it’s essential to see a specialist surgeon to get expert surgery and patient care both before, during and after your surgery.
Benign Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery
Common types of surgery performed by our Perth surgeons include a laparoscopic fundoplication, heller myotomy and surgery of cardial cancers.
Oesophageal disorders may cause heartburn and reflux and if you need surgery, you can count on our extensive experience in this area. We commit to providing expert surgery, as well as personalised care.
Stomach Cancer Surgery
Our surgical training is extensive and has been carried out in some of the best worldwide institutions.
Stomach cancer and ulcer surgery is one of our specialties. We can help with endoscopies and assessment of these conditions as well as nutritional support. These types of surgeries are now rarer as risk factors such as smoking and alcohol, as well as excessive consumption of preserved foods, are more controlled.
Our multi-disciplinary team will be there for you to prepare your surgery and provide support and aftercare.
A number of conditions can affect the spleen and treatment may involve a splenectomy (surgical removal of the spleen). If a splenectomy is performed, a number of vaccinations are necessary.
Our surgeons work together to provide top quality surgery and care.
With expertise and surgical refinement only built by those performing extremely demanding surgery such as liver transplantation, the most successful surgery for cancers of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, stomach, duodenum and spleen is available to you at The Surgeons Collective.

Our Surgeons, Physicians and Dietitians
Transplant & liver surgeons, Upper GI surgeons and bariatric surgeons all specialise in their specific treatments and surgeries. Yet, because they all work in the upper abdominal area of the human body, their shared and combined expertise is extremely valuable. This is why we decided to create a unique collaborative approach to surgery and The Surgeons Collective was born. Surgeons, hepatologists, gastroenterologists and dietitians now work together in a collective effort to never give up on your health.
The Surgeons Collective, Perth
Established in 2013 as “The Liver Centre” and “The Hernia Gallbladder Centre”, our team has since expanded and we now offer highly specialised surgery for all upper abdominal organs. The types of surgery we provide are known as hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery and upper GI surgery.
The founder of The Surgeons Collective, Professor Luc Delrivière, has been involved in over 1,000 liver transplants throughout his career in renown institutions such as King’s College Hospital, London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He is the senior liver transplant surgeon of the WA Liver Transplant Service.
Professor Delrivière has assembled a team known as “The Surgeons Collective” which offers patients the benefit of a unique and centralised group including leading surgeons, specialist hepatologists (liver physicians), gastro-enterologists and dietitians.
We are here to offer you support and management with any disease of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas and spleen. We also offer general surgical procedures such as hernia repair surgery.
Bariatric procedures (obesity surgery) are an important component of our surgical services also.
We have a unique commitment to ensure that two specialist surgeons are present, working together, during your surgery. As part of our personalised post-operative after-care, we visit our patients every day during their hospitalisation, including Saturdays and Sundays, to assure that care is always optimal.
